Decision Technology Analyst (63122)

Decision Technology Analyst

The Decision Technology Analyst supports Revenue Management users by providing data analysis, evaluating decision support system results, building database queries, and troubleshooting analyst concerns.  This role will analyze demand forecast and optimization model results.  The analyst will develop decision support tools and assist with department reporting.  The Decision Technology analyst will also engage with our business users to ensure that on-going continuous improvements occur within existing models and solutions. The position will also help the business find ways to better leverage, utilize, and instill decision support solutions throughout the organization.

The Decision Technology team at Avis Budget Group works closely with the Revenue Management and Fleet teams to provide scientific solutions to everyday business decisions, and to improve business strategies and processes influencing:

  • Pricing strategy
  • Demand forecasting & optimization
  • Competitor analysis & market research

 

What you’ll do:

  • Analyzing demand forecast and Revenue Management optimization model results, monitoring data integrity and results. Recommend and discuss improvements.
  • Supporting end users in Revenue Management by explaining decision support system results, building database queries, interpreting the results and troubleshooting analyst concerns and making recommendations
  • Engaging with business users to understand business challenges, how users are approaching these challenges, and identify forecasting models, statistical techniques, and solutions that will support the decision making process
  • Developing and implementing forecast models and tools to extract maximum value from data and provide reports
  • Monitoring and improving input data quality
  • Managing and developing processes and tools to measure and monitor model performance and value achieved from solutions
  • Leading acceptance testing of model and user interface enhancements
  • Leading new project initiatives, interacting with IT and business groups to discuss data requirements and model assumptions.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or other Quantitative discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in statistics and forecasting – modeling and analyzing revenue management forecasting solutions in a practical and impactful way
  • Experience with at least one statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, Python) and at least one database environment (e.g., Oracle, SQLServer, Access, Hadoop/HiveSQL)
  • Prefer experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
